Texas Tax Lock provides residential property tax protest representation in the State of Texas. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our service, how we use it, and who we share it with. Plain English, no filler.
"Texas Tax Lock" (also "we," "us," or "our") is a Texas-based residential property tax protest service. Our mailing address is PO BOX 16598, Fort Worth, TX 76162. You can reach us at support@texastaxlock.com.
When you sign up for our service, we collect:
Payment card details are collected directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not see, store, or process your full card number. Stripe provides us with confirmation of payment and limited information (last four digits of the card, cardholder name and email) for our records.
When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, and pages viewed. We use this to operate the site, prevent abuse, and understand how visitors use the service. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site tracking pixels.
We use the information you provide to:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your personal information. We do not use your information to market unrelated products or services.
As your authorized agent, we file your Notice of Protest and supporting evidence with the county appraisal district where your property is located. This filing is a public record under Texas law. By hiring us, you authorize us to disclose the necessary information to the appraisal district for the purpose of protesting your property's assessed value.
We share limited information with third-party vendors who help us operate the service:
These providers are contractually obligated to handle your information securely and only for the purposes we specify. Some of these providers are located in the United States, and data you share with us may be processed in the United States.
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to protect our rights, property, or safety (or those of our customers or others); or to investigate suspected fraud.
If Texas Tax Lock is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you via email if this happens.
We retain customer records for as long as necessary to provide the service and to comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations — typically at least seven years after your last protest, consistent with Texas records retention practices for tax professionals. You may request deletion of records that are not subject to a retention requirement by contacting us.
Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt out of any "sale" of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
To exercise any of these rights, email support@texastaxlock.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted data at rest with our service providers, and limited access controls for our team. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk wherever practical.
Our service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll post the updated policy at this URL and update the "Effective" date at the top. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
